There has been a positive reaction on the whole with the fresh bakery a standout to local residents.
One resident revealed her excitement that Lidl’s bakery will be within “walking distance” to their home.
This ability to walk to a nearby Lidl is something that was also highlighted by residents.
Currently, Marlow’s Lidl lovers have to travel to High Wycombe but the approved plans will see the car journey cut dramatically.
A local resident said on Facebook: “Great, this saves going to Wycombe!”

Another resident believes that the added competition will do improve the area.
They said: “Nice competition, that’s what Marlow on Thames needs.”
The plans include an extension onto Liston Road to increase the size of the shop floor.
Lidl has also been permitted opening hours from 7am to 11pm on any day.
