Roald Dahl Day celebrations at The Roald Dahl Museum, 11am, The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, 81-83 High Street, Great Missenden. Themed costumed guided tours of High Wycombe Cemetery, 10.30am-4pm, Setting off from Wycombe Museum, Priory Avenue. These popular tours will occur throughout the day and will tell the stories behind the people buried in the Victorian part of the cemetery. The event is free but it is recommended that places are booked in advance with the Museum as numbers are limited. The tours are unsuitable for children under 12 years. Help will also be on hand to find the graves of family members buried in the cemetery, and Bucks Family History Society will be at the Museum to assist visitors with family history research. Family History Talk: My Ancestor Was An Apprentice, 7.15pm, Community Centre, Wakeman Road, Bourne End. In this talk, Stuart Raymond invites members of Buckinghamshire Family History Society to consider the way apprentices were trained. Non-members are very welcome; a small donation will be appreciated.

The Buckinghamshire Machine Breakers, 7.30pm, Sarney Room, Community Centre, Flackwell Heath. The first major event the group will be hosting is a talk by Jill Chambers, a national authority on the so- called 'Swing Riots' in England. Jill will be focusing on the riots and machine breaking in the Flackwell Heath, Wooburn, Loudwater, Chepping (High) Wycombe area, and the Special Commission trials of the rioters that followed. A Boy Growing Up, 7.30pm, The Kenton Theatre, Henley. Rodney Bewes appears in this own man show as he adapts the stories that Dylan Thomas wrote detailing his childhood adventures growing up in south Wales.
