CHESHAM Bois Catholic Players took a leap of faith when they decided to stage a full musical instead of their annual pantomime and it paid off. Playing to very appreciative audiences with Friday and Saturday a sell-out they were certainly successful.
The show had two different Annie’s performing on consecutive nights and two teams of orphans who were all excellent. There were some strong performances but with a large cast it would be unfair to single out any one in particular.
The principals were impressive and were well backed up by the chorus. The sets and back drops were outstanding and the scene changes were slick. Credit must go to the very strong team of helpers and backstage crew.
The costumes were authentic and the wardrobe team are to be congratulated for their splendid work. Well directed by David J Martin with an exceptionally good set of musicians under their musical director and conductor Robert Wicks this was a show of which the Chesham Bois Catholic Players should be justly proud. I do hope they decide to throw caution to the winds and stage another musical next year.
