Gay Beattie will give an illustrated talk about her book Wild Flowers and Where to Find them in the Chilterns. The book was co-authored with her father, Laurie Fallows. The talk explains how the book came to be written, but also includes fascinating facts about the culinary, medicinal and other uses of many local wild flowers. The Oxford Philomusica Piano Quintet, 7.30pm, Norden Farm, Maidenhead. The orchestra is the first-ever orchestra in residence at the university of Oxford and have been for nearly a decade. Tonight features three soloists on violin, viola and cello and joined by talented young pianist, Ceri Owen. The programme is Vaughan Williams’ Piano Quintet in C Minor and Schubert’s Piano Quintet in A Major. Tickets are £16 and £5 for under 18s.
