1. ROALD Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity Christmas Concert takes place this Saturday evening at 7pm. Musical Director Fiona Firth, Singers for all and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity present a seasonal extravaganza of Dahl readings, amusing songs, carols and some Bach and Handel too. Professional soloists Martin Robson, Ian Lynch and actor Andrew Wincott from 'The Archers' with Dolce Vita, Voice band and the Pop Up Choir. Refreshments available and a fantastic raffle will take place with prizes from Stoke Park Golf Club, meals at local eateries including the Kings Arms Amersham and the Nag's Head Great Missenden and a range of massages, manicures and 'perfect' gifts for all. 2. THE Showstoppers perform a unique show every evening, taking suggestions from the audience to create a completely improvised musical from scratch, live on stage. With catchy songs, hilarious jokes, group dances and exciting storylines, it’s a full on performance that just happens to be made up on the spot. Tickets are £16. Suitable for ages 14+ years. 3. SEE Father Christmas at Hughenden Manor this weekend, for the final time this year. He will be in his grotto on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3pm. It is £6 per child, which includes a gift. There are also craft activities for children, while they wait to see Father Christmas. For the adults the house in decorated in beautiful Victorian decorations and in front of the house is a tasty, toasty winter treat; with roasted chestnuts and mulled cider for the grown ups, or marshmallow toasting and mulled apple juice for the little ones. On Boxing Day from 12 to 3pm everyone is welcome at the manor for an afternoon of relaxation and reminiscing and to warm the cockles with complimentary mince pies and its very own Hughenden mulled cider. Normal admission charges apply.
4. STEP into the magical world of Narnia at the Santa’s Grotto launched by the Bucks Free Press and the Chilterns Shopping Centre. It is open for the final time this Saturday between 11am and 4pm, and costs £3 with every child receiving a wrapped gift. £1 from every entry fee will be donated to The Pepper Foundation charity. It is open from 11am to 4pm at The Chilterns Shopping Centre in High Wycombe.
5. HUG a husky this weekend at Waddesdon Manor on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm. The Coach House has been transformed into an alpine chalet and next to this the Siberian Husky Welfare Association will be there will some of their huskies to meet visitors. The Manor is decorated in an Austrian Christmas theme with plenty of trees to admire and there are also six light installations from Bruce Munro in the grounds. The house is open on Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 7.30pm and the grounds are open from 10am to 8pm. Go to www.waddesdon.org.uk
