The Young Theatre's Jack and the Beanstalk
Once more Mark Oldknow has written a show suitable for all ages with the emphasis very much on the young and the young at heart. The production is full to the brim of jokes, slapstick, magic and the now legendary rock throwing finale. Mark has also been encouraged to don, possibly for the last time, wig, dress and the persona of his ever popular Dame. He is joined, as usual, by Tom McGrath in the role of Simple Simon - this being the fifth panto they have taken these roles in. This year the show also has invited Jenny Quille, well-known locally as actress and director, to play Fairy Godmother (a role she last took in 2005) with Tight Fit Theatre; and Edward Simpson joins us hot from his national tour of The Mikado as King.
