Despite his side winning 3-2 away at Burton Albion, Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield said he was ‘disappointing’ to let go of the lead twice.
The Chairboys went ahead through Gideon Kodua’s first goal for the club on 16 minutes, before Danilo Orsi equalised 11 minutes before the break.
Luke Leahy restored Wanderers’ advantage with his first goal of the season just after the break, but Wycombe were only ahead for 10 minutes as Charlie Webster’s long-range strike but the Brewers level.
This was also his first goal for his new club, after signing from Chelsea in the summer.
But in the final 10 minutes, substitute Dan Uodh got Wanderers’ winner.
This means the Adams Park side are now unbeaten in nine league games – their longest in League One since 2022 when they went 13 without defeat.
Speaking on the performance, Bloomfield said: “I’m just really pleased to have won the game.
“We knew we were in for a tough night and it was really was to and fro.
“To throw away positions from being in the lead twice was disappointing on our behalf but it’s just great to get the win because this is never an easy place to come.
“We have not got a great record coming here in recent seasons.
“The boys are a pleasure to work with.
“They are pleased for eachother and they celebrate each other’s successes.
“They work hard every day and we try and instil that in them and the drive to take two disappointments of throwing away the lead twice and going on to get a third, we must be really pleased with that response.
“We need to tighten up because we are conceding too many for my liking but at the same time we are entertaining to watch and scoring goals.”
