Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month award for September.

The 40-year-old saw his side achieve maximum points with three wins from three as the Adams Park club defeated Northampton Town, Cambridge United and Bristol Rovers, all by 2-1 scorelines.

Wanderers are unbeaten in seven in the league, and have scored in every game so far this season in the division.

A spokesperson from the EFL said: “If August contained difficult fixtures and the need to bed in new signings, September offered proof that Bloomfield’s possession-based, through-the-lines approach is working, moving Wycombe into the top half with three wins from three games.”

The three other managers that have been nominated include Blackpool’s Steve Bruce.

The ex-Birmingham City, Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Newcastle United and Sunderland boss was appointed on September 3, and won all four of his matches last month in the league.

Nigel Clough of Mansfield Town has also been nominated after a terrific start to the season, following their promotion back to the third tier for the first time since the 2002/03 campaign, and Chris Davies of Birmingham City.

The Blues have won seven of their nine matches this season, with the Midland team currently sitting on top of the table.

The winner will be announced on Friday, October 11.
