Derby County manager Paul Warne has said his players are ‘in a good place’ ahead of this weekend’s match against Wycombe Wanderers.

The Rams sit in sixth place where they have won six of their last seven league fixtures whilst also keeping five clean sheets in that time.

They are also through into the next round of the Football League Trophy, in which they have lost just three times in all competitions since September 16.

Those defeats came against Shrewsbury Town and Stevenage respectively in the league, whilst also being knocked out of the FA Cup by Crewe Alexandra in the first round.

Their impressive run is the antithesis of Wanderers’ current form, as the Chairboys have lost their last four league games, and have not won in the division since October 7.

They are winless in eight in the league, and have only picked up four wins from the previous 13.

Those victories have all come in cup competitions.

He told the club’s website: “It's about the players.

“They've looked more driven, more athletic and results do give you that.

"They have a lot more belief in themselves and I just think with this group now, if they are to go behind in a game then no drama, they keep to the game plan.

“They are in a really good place."

"Every team brings a different challenge.

"It's important we go into the match against Wycombe on Saturday with the same mindset as we did against Leyton Orient last weekend.

“We're in a good place, but it's important that we always turn up and we always perform."
