Ex-Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Nick Freeman has scored one of the goals of this EFL season.
The 27-year-old, who departed the Chairboys after seven years at Adams Park this summer, produced a real screamer for his new side, Stevenage.
His first goal for his boyhood and hometown club came in Boro’s 3-0 away victory at Leyton Orient – two of the sides who gained promotion into League One in May.

Steve Evans’ team were already two goals to the good when Freeman smashed home a volley from 25-yards that crashed the underside of the crossbar.
Speaking on the goal, the Stevenage manager told the Comet: “Nick has had a frustrating time.
🤔 Is there anything sweeter than a shot in off the crossbar?

“We were working him hard to get him back to fitness because he wasn’t getting games at the end at Wycombe.
"And when he was out injured, like Sweens [Dan Sweeney], he has worked hard.
"When he hit the ball, I knew it would hit the target.
“I didn’t know it would be as accurate or as missile-like."
The last three goals Freeman has scored have all been from outside the box.

These were against Barnsley and Milton Keynes for Wycombe, and now against Leyton Orient for Stevenage.
Additionally, all of these strikes have come away from home.
His last home goal in any capacity came in January 2020 when he got on the scoresheet in Wanderers’ 2-1 victory against Blackpool at Adams Park.
