Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield has hailed his team’s defensive abilities in their 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers.
A Joe Low header, which is his third in as many league games, and a Garath McCleary finish gave the Chairboys their third victory of the season in all competitions.
They are now unbeaten in three in which they have picked up seven points from the last nine available.

On the display in the West Country, Bloomfield said: “We were solid.
“They did have opportunities but most of them were outside of the box as we defended well.
“It’s great to get the win away from home and on a Saturday too as I know a lot has been made of that, so we’re really pleased.
“I also know there has been a lot of talk about change and evolution around the club this summer, but I didn't want us to lose that gritty Wycombe mentally, so the way the boys defended was resolute.
“I’m very proud.”
On the performance of Low, who produced a crucial block in injury-time moments after Rovers pulled a goal back to make it 2-1, Bloomfield continued: “He said that he enjoyed the block more than the goal!

“He has done everything that has been asked of him since being here.
“We’re proud of him in how he goes about his work and the way he treats people around him.
“We’re so happy to have him.”
Finally, on being three unbeaten, he added: “It could have been more from the number of chances we had against Burton, and of course, we didn’t want the start that we had [against Exeter and Lincoln], and we want to build on that.
“We don’t want to be content as we want to improve.”
Up next is Sutton United at home in the League Cup.
