Wycombe Wanderers defender Joe Low has admitted that he ‘wasn’t expecting’ to score a double on his league debut for the club.
The Welsh centre back got on the end of two Luke Leahy crosses in the Chairboys’ recent 3-2 home victory against Leyton Orient on August 15, which gave Matt Bloomfield’s side their first win in League One since April.
It was also Low’s first goal in any capacity since February which coincidentally was also against the Os.

He told the press: “I came here on trial and straight away, I was really pleased to be within the club from the way they brought me in and I’m really enjoying it so far.
“And it’s funny as I can’t really remember the first goal too much.
“I just stretched for it and thankfully it rolled in.

“The second one was just the case of throwing my face at it as I had beaten my man.
“We want to build on what we’ve achieved tonight but always want to get better.”
On getting his double in the midweek win which has made him the club’s highest scorer so far this season, he added: “It feels pretty good to say that and let’s hope that can be the case at the end of the season too!

“With my height, I know I should certainly get on the end of a few crosses during the season, but I wasn’t expecting to get two against Leyton Orient.”
Up next is Burton at home on Saturday.
