Wycombe Wanderers are set to complete the signing of Bristol City centre back, Joe Low.

The 21-year-old, who has been with the Robins since 2009, has been on trial with the Chairboys and played in the club’s 1-0 win over the Arsenal Under 21s last Friday [July 14].

He has also impressed Matt Bloomfield and his coaching staff during several training sessions prior to last week's friendly versus the Gunners.

As reported by the Bristol Post, Low was a notable absentee from the club’s pre-season tour of Austria earlier this month with City manager Nigel Pearson hoping to move the defender on.

His pending arrival at Adams Park means he will be the sixth new face to join Wanderers, but it is not known if a fee will be involved despite the defender having one-year left on his current deal at Ashton Gate.

It is also understood that Bloomfield tried to sign Low whilst he was in charge of Colchester United in January, only for the defender to join Walsall instead.

The English-born centre back has represented both the Wales Under 17 and 21 teams, and was recently called up to the first team by manager Rob Page for their respective matches against Armenia and Turkey last month.
