Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield has praised Exeter City’s attacking players in Sam Nombe and Jay Stansfield, following the 1-1 draw between the two clubs on Saturday.
Nombe, who is in his second season with the Grecians, made his presence in the fixture at Adams Park, whilst Stansfield claimed the assist for Exeter’s equaliser.
The result meant Wanderers drew for just the sixth time this league season, as they remain outside the play-off places.
Jordan Obita and Jordan Willis missed the match today, whilst Garath McCleary and Josh Scowen were injured in the draw with Exeter.

“He has got a good calibre and has played at a good level throughout his career, and he really showed his quality.
“Jay Stansfield was good as well when he came off the bench.
“He made a difference, used his pace, and overall, it was an interesting game regards to tactics and formations, and I thought it was a good game.
“Both teams had an attacking threat, and I think we need to respect the point and look forward to Tuesday against Fleetwood.”

Nombe joined Exeter City on a three-year contract from MK in the Summer of 2021 and was vital in helping secure promotion to League One last season.
Stansfield, 20, is currently on a season long loan at Exeter, his boyhood club, from Premier League side Fulham.

He dons the number nine shirt for the club, which was last worn by his late father, Adam.
Coincidentally, Adam Stansfield’s last professional before his death from cancer in August 2010 happened to be against Wycombe in March of that year.
That game ended 2-2 at Adams Park.
