It has been reported that Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth is allegedly having talks with Queens Park Rangers over their managerial vacancy.
The West London club parted company with former manager Neil Critchley on February 19, after just 12 games in charge which resulted in a solitary victory.

If appointed, he will be QPR’s third boss of the season, but it has also been suggested that former players in Shaun Derry and Clint Hill are reportedly interested in the role.
Ex-Derby County, Chelsea and Everton manager, Frank Lampard, and recently fired Southampton boss, Nathan Jones, are also linked with the job.

The news about the purported discussions were reported by Sky Sports News in the afternoon of February 20, just two days after Wycombe recorded their fifth straight victory in League One.

Their recent 1-0 triumph over Bolton Wanderers was the first time the Chairboys had picked up 15 points from five games in the third tier of English football.
Ainsworth’s current deal with the Adams Park side expires in 2025, meaning QPR will have to give Wycombe compensation in securing his services if he were to agree to the role.
Additionally, this is not the first time the former fan favourite at Loftus Road has been linked with the QPR job.

In December, it was alleged that the 49-year-old was the front-runner to take over from Michael Beale after the latter agreed to take the job at Rangers, before Critchley was announced as the new boss.
Ainsworth spent seven seasons with the Hoops between 2003 and 2010 as a player, where he scored 22 goals in 152 matches.
He also had two spells as a caretaker manager with the club during the 2008/09 campaign where he won three times in 11 games.
