Gareth Ainsworth believes it will be a ‘tough game’ against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, November 12.

Wycombe Wanderers travel to the West Country with no wins in their last four home games, just days after defeating Thames Valley rivals Oxford United and Milton Keynes on the road.

The Chairboys sit 13th in the league table five points off the top six, and take on a Rovers team that have only won three of their 17 games so far this season in League One.

This is the Green Army’s first-ever campaign into the third tier of English football, and despite them being winless in their last five league matches, they defeated Non League South Shields away in the FA Cup last weekend.

Speaking to the press ahead of the fixture, Ainsworth said: “They will not be a pushover and it’ll be a very tough game.

“They want to survive in this league so they will want to scrap and fight and the crowd will be up for it and we have got to match that.

“We can’t ever look at games and go, 'we’re up for this one, but we’re not up for this one as this might be easier than that one.'

“The moment we start thinking like that, I will start coming down on people.

“There are no expectations in football as you get what you earn, you get what you deserve and we have got to earn the right to win on Saturday.

“You should be at your peak every single game no matter who you are playing, or what you’re doing as consistency will get you results.

“You can’t come off the gas for any reason as you need to get better at the crucial moments in both boxes, and I will be telling everyone that we need to be on top form.”
