Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth has said that he would ‘love’ to see former Chairboys attacker Eberechi Eze in England’s 2022 World Cup squad.
Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate is expected to name his 26-man squad for the tournament in Qatar at 2pm on November 10, with the former Adams Park fan favourite and current Crystal Palace player allegedly being named in the preliminary list.
Genuinely think Eze deserves to be in the England squad but it’s probably a question of Eze or Maddison realistically, and I think JM will get it. Both deserve it over Mount but he will go.

Eze spent half of the 2017/18 campaign with Wanderers on loan from QPR, and played an integral part in the club’s promotion to League One at the end of that season.
In all, he featured 22 times for the Chairboys and scored five goals, before being recalled by the West London team in January 2018.

“I think he would be a wildcard addition as an ‘unknown’, but the way he has played so far this season [for Crystal Palace] has been phenomenal.
“It was a proud moment for me to meet him the other night at Bayo’s preview and he came up to me and said ‘thank you’ for all that I did for him which was very special.

“The boy is a hell of a talent.
“There are a few number 10s/attacking midfield players that are incredibly talented so he is up against some real quality players.
“However, form-wise, he can say he has given it his best shot.
“Hopefully he can get a call-up and everyone at Wycombe would be immensely proud.”
Eze is now in his third season with Crystal Palace in the Premier League, where has played 67 times and has scored seven goals.
England start their World Cup journey on November 21 against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
