Gareth Ainsworth has thanked both the Wycombe Wanderers and Plymouth Argyle supporters for their tributes to the late Bill Turnbull ahead of the match at Adams Park.
Bill, who co-hosted BBC Breakfast for 15 years and was a fan and commentator for the Chairboys, passed away aged 66 on August 31 this year following a five-year battle with prostate cancer.

His efforts to raise funds and get more people talking about the illness changed the lives of many men, and ahead of Wycombe’s 1-0 loss against the Pilgrims, everyone inside Adams Park gave the late presenter and journalist a round of applause.

“He would have been disappointed with the result but I’m sure Bill would have been beaming about the performance, especially in the first-half.
“He was a great guy that was involved with his club and hopefully his family have seen how much he meant to everyone.”
