Former Wycombe Wanderers defender Roger Johnson has been unveiled as the new manager of Non League Brackley Town.

The 39-year-old, who spent eight years at the Adams Park club where he scored 22 goals in 183 games, was officially confirmed as the Saints’ new boss on September 29.

This comes after the National League North club parted ways with Kevin Wilkin on the same day.

The Northamptonshire-based side are currently seventh in the table and have won five, lost four, and drawn one of the 10 league games so far this season.

Johnson left Wycombe in 2006 to sign for Cardiff City, where he played 136 times which included an appearance in the 2008 FA Cup which the Bluebirds lost 1-0 at Wembley Stadium against Portsmouth.

Transfers to Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers followed in the Premier League, be he would be one of the few players to, unfortunately, have three relegations in successive seasons for the two aforementioned clubs between 2011 and 2013.

Brief spells at Sheffield Wednesday, West Ham United, Bromley, FC Pune City in India and two stints at Charlton Athletic followed before he retired in 2019.
