Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth has named who he thinks has been the best player to play under him at Adams Park.
The 49-year-old celebrates his 10th year in charge of the Chairboys on September 24, when his side takes on Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
In the past decade, he has reached three play-off finals, achieved two promotions, avoided relegation to the Non League, and has been demoted from the Championship once.
He has also managed some of the most recognizable names in the Football League, but there is one player that he believes has so far stood out during his time at Wanderers.
Speaking on the best player he’s managed, Ainsworth said: “That would be Eberechi Eze.
“I had also signed someone else from QPR that season [Jack Williams] but I was told to have a look at him [Eze].
“I had to really convince his agent to allow him to come here because he thought he was better than League Two, but he hadn’t played anywhere else.

“And when I saw him in training I could see the agent’s point.
“Wow, and I mean wow.
“He was a phenomenal talent for us in the games, in training and those two goals against Cambridge…just wow.
“He’s a great man, a humble person and it’s great to see him do so well.”

Eze only spent half-a-season with the Chairboys for the 2017/18 campaign on loan from QPR where he scored five goals in 22 matches.
His displays played a big of Wycombe’s promotion into League One that year, and following his positive play, he was recalled by the London club for the latter half of that season.
He eventually joined Crystal Palace in the 2020/21 season for £12m.
To date, he has played 53 PL games and has scored five times.
