On July 3 in an empty Highbury Stadium, Gareth Ainsworth’s men smashed Fleetwood Town 4-1 in the first leg of that year’s semi-finals, before they a 2-2 draw at Adams Park confirmed their place at Wembley Stadium.
They would go onto reach the second tier with a 2-1 victory over Oxford United in the final.

Mad scenes were witnessed on the Wanderers bench as the Wycombe players celebrated what seemed to be an impossible dream.
The only thing that was missing were the fans.
Two years on, supporters of the side form south Buckinghamshire can now finally join in with in party, and after around 9,000 Wycombe fans attended both semi-final matches against Milton Keynes this time around, they will have their chance to visit the home of English football to get behind Ainsworth’s army.
So, to get us in the mood for the final showpiece against Sunderland on Saturday, May 21, let’s remind ourselves of the those two brilliant performances against MK.
