Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth has revealed that he ‘loves’ being at the club amid rumours linking him with the vacant Preston North End job.
North End parted ways with boss Frankie McAvoy on December 6 after nine months in charge, and there has been speculation that the former Preston hero could be re-joining the Deepdale outfit in the managerial hotseat.
According to bettingodds.com, Sky Bet has got 16/1 odds on for Ainsworth to take the job, but, it is alleged that ex-Plymouth manager Ryan Lowe is expected to take over.

Lowe, who faced Wycombe a few weeks ago as the Argyle boss, handed in his notice on December 7, and has now left the Home Park side.
Speaking to the Late Kick Off podcast, Ainsworth said: “I’m really, really happy.
“There are a couple of clubs that are close to my heart like Blackburn and QPR, but I don’t think Wycombe are a million miles away from sharing a level with those clubs at the moment.

“For all we have worked for and how far we have come, I am so, so proud.
“I know everyone’s name at the club from the people who clean the stadium to everybody, and to be so welcomed there and to be looked at like a leader…I love being at Wycombe Wanderers.”
Ainsworth has been with the Chairboys since 2009, and as manager since 2012, where he has been part of one promotion as a player (2010/11) and has overseen two as a manager (2017/18 and 2019/20).
