A man who was caught stealing waste oil from a popular Beaconsfield Chinese restaurant has been fined hundreds of pounds.
Ivan Parev, aged 39, has been fined £600 after he pleaded guilty to two counts of theft at a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates Court on Friday, June 4.
The court heard how Parev, from Haringey in London, stole waste oil worth £20 from China Diner Restaurant in Station Road, Beaconsfield, on September 9 last year.
He then committed the same offence again on September 16, taking £20-worth of waste oil from China Diner Restaurant.
After pleading guilty to the offences at court, Parev was fined £600 and told to pay £40 compensation for the two charges.
Thefts of used cooking oil have been on the rise over the past 10 years because it can be reconverted into biodiesel.
It is not clear why Parey stole the cooking oil from China Diner Restaurant.
