A retired NHS nurse has received a lifetime achievement award after an ‘immeasurable’ impact on patients’ lives in Buckinghamshire.
Specialist nurse Liz Scott dedicated most of her nursing career to Parkinson’s after taking part in a community project in Hampshire in 1992.
She retired recently from her job as a Parkinson’s Nurse Specialist after 28 years of service with the NHS caring for thousands of patients in Amersham and High Wycombe.
Chief nurse for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Karen Bonner said: “It is wonderful to see Liz being recognised nationally for her commitment and dedication to supporting people living with Parkinson’s.

Liz was given the Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Parkinson’s Excellence Network Awards, highlighting the impact she had on lives.
Local Parkinson’s UK trustees Laurel and Peter Miller said: “Liz will be sorely missed by the thousands of people she has supported over the years and the contribution she has made to the care of people living with Parkinson’s over the years is immeasurable.”
Liz was also recognised at the Buckinghamshire Trust's annual awards with the People's Award for Personal and Compassionate Care after nominations from patients and carers in the Parkinson's community.
