The cheapest gyms to get fit at in Buckinghamshire have been revealed.

With the colder weather kicking in, indoor exercise is becoming more appealing. 

Not everyone can spare the money every month for a gym membership during the cost of living crisis. However, some gyms offer one-off passes and discounted prices. 

Regular exercise can help boost the mood and it’s especially useful for people who live with mild to moderate depression, the NHS has said.

Research suggests exercise can help combat seasonal affective disorder, which usually kicks in with shorter days.  

Here are some of the gyms you can get the most bang for your buck.

The Gym High Wycombe

 

Membership prices start from £23.99 per month plus a £10 joining fee at the 24 hour gym near High Wycombe train station.

The gym chain often runs offers for new members to join without the £10 fee.

Student membership starts from £199 for nine months.

Buzz Gym High Wycombe

 

A full access monthly membership costs £23.99 plus a one-off £25 joining fee. It includes free parking and access to classes at the 24h gym.

The brand-new gym opened in the Eden Shopping Centre in April.

Buckinghamshire New University

 

A membership at this less-known but well-equipped gym starts from £25 per month for non-students and includes classes such as spinning, yoga, strength sessions and pilates among others.  

The gym is located in the main campus building near the High Wycombe Hospital and there are special discounts for students and NHS staff.

Chesham Moor Gym and Swim

 

A monthly membership with access to the recently revamped heated outdoor pool, gym and tennis starts from £27 per month for an adult.

Gym access can also be paid on pay-as-you-go basis, costing £7 a pop for adults.

Anytime Fitness

 

A base-level membership at the High Wycombe or Loudwater gym starts from £42.95 per month.  

Anytime Fitness sites are open 24/7 and include parking. 

Chilterns Lifestyle Centre

 

The price of a basic membership to access the gym, swimming, exercise classes and saunas at the lifestyle centre starts from £44.99 per month.

The lifestyle centre opened in Amersham in December 2021.
