A new patient survey has revealed the best and worst surgeries across the Buckinghamshire area.
NHS England annually collects the data of over two million people across the UK to collate into a comprehensive account of how patients feel about their local GPs.
Questions asked include how often patients see or speak to their preferred GP, their satisfaction with appointment times and overall satisfaction with their provider.
We looked specifically at the surgeries within the Arc Bucks Primary Care Network (PCN) which spans six medical centres in Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Marlow and Bourne End.
Millbarn Medical Centre in Beaconsfield scored the highest overall, with 76 per cent of patients satisfied with their appointment times and 91 per cent expressing overall satisfaction with the GP.
On the other hand, the Bourne End and Wooburn Medical Centre clocked in the lowest score for how often patients see or speak to their preferred GP, with just 6 per cent of those surveyed answering in the affirmative.
The Doctor's House Medical Group in Marlow, Cherrymead Surgery in High Wycombe and The Simpson Centre in Beaconsfield also all had relatively low scores for how often patients see or speak to their preferred GP, clocking in at 22 per cent, 37 per cent and 30 per cent respectively.
Patients reported that the website for The Doctor's House was the most difficult to navigate, with only 56 per cent describing it as easy to use.
Millbarn Medical Centre also had the best patient experience of booking an appointment, scoring at least 10 per cent above all the other other surgeries with a total of 82 per cent.
The Simpson Centre and Highfield Surgery in High Wycombe both scored around the 50 per cent mark for appointment time satisfaction while The Doctor's House received scores of 55 and 56 per cent for its website accessibility and appointment times.
Patients did seem largely satisfied with their local surgeries overall, with all six practices in the PCN scoring above 70 per cent.
Ratings were also high across the board when patients were asked how confident they were in their healthcare professional at their most recent appointment, with every surgery in the area scored at above 90 per cent.
The survey was carried out by the NHS between January and April 2023 and found that 14.2 per cent of those surveyed said they were unhappy with the service provided by their local GP, marking the highest level of dissatisfaction in six years.
