Patients in Bucks have been warned that their appointments may be rescheduled next week as junior doctors go on strike.
The British Medical Association and the Hospital Consultants and Specialists Association have announced strike action at NHS branches across the UK between Tuesday, April 11 and Saturday, April 15.
Emergency and essential services will continue to operate amid the junior doctor walk-outs, but patients have been advised to check if upcoming non-urgent appointments and procedures have been rescheduled.
The trust said they would do everything possible to prioritise patients with the highest clinical need, including those who had already been waiting a long time for treatment and cancer and dialysis patients.
If residents do not hear anything by the day of their appointment, they are advised to attend the original booking as planned.
Chief Medical Officer at the Bucks NHS Trust, Andrew McLaren, said: "We do not underestimate the impact this industrial action will have on our patients.
"It follows a long bank holiday weekend where some services are limited and many staff are on planned leave.
"Please help us to help you by preparing for the long Easter weekend by ordering repeat prescriptions, stocking up on essential medicines in advance and looking out for vulnerable friends and family."
The trust are asking members of the public to visit the Emergency Department only if experiencing a genuine emergency. Those needing medical help should contact NHS 111 online or by telephone to be directed to a suitable care provider.
