COMFORT food is back in a big way as colder weather has hit Buckinghamshire in recent days.
One of the best ways to cheer up and celebrate the start of December is to head to the nearest cozy pub with friends or family this weekend.

The Chandos Arms
First opened in 1842, the Weston Turville pub serves gourmet burgers, baked potatoes, salads and Sunday carvery with slow cooked meats and much more every weekend inside or at the heated outside marquee.
The pub owner’s support local producers as their meat comes from Kings Farm Butchers in Wendover, fruit and vegetables from Dereck Piggott in Aylesbury and fish from Martin at Risboro Fish in Weston Turville.

The Green Man
The traditional 14th century coaching inn is located a stone’s throw away from Denham Country Park in picturesque Denham Village.
Their menu includes pub classics like pies, burgers, steak, fish and chips, vegetarian options, curry of the day and deserts.
Hungry visitors also have the option to pre-book for the new Christmas menu until December 23.

The Squirrel
Sit by the fire at this Booker – based traditional pub, which has been awarded Tripadvisor’s Travellers Choice Award two years running.
Sunday Roasts start from £10.5, and the menu has a range of gluten free, vegetarian and meat options.
The Squirrel welcomes children, while visitors with dogs are asked to let the staff know in advance.

The Oak
Why not head to this village pub nestled between Aylesbury and Tring after a country walk in the Chilterns?
On Saturdays, visitors can start their day with a hearty breakfast from 9am until 11am, while night owls will be served until 11pm.
The Sunday Roast menu is suitable for both vegetarians and friends of a slow roast beef brisket.

The Grouse and Ale
Located in the village of Lane End near Marlow, the pub treats diners to a selection of daily specials based on seasonal produce, including local ingredients and game in the autumn and winter.
The pub’s menu is a celebration of Sunday dining, and includes children’s options and stone- baked gourmet pizzas.
The Grouse and Ale’s Christmas menu starts from £28, and they also serve a full Christmas Day menu for £75 per person.
