A Buckinghamshire bus firm got on board with a global campaign for car free travel this year.
The World Car Free Day, marked today on September 22, encourages motorists to give up their cars for one day for more environmentally friendly everyday transport.
Carousel Buses is taking part in the global initiative aimed at easing congestion and improving air quality as people use mass transit, cycling and walking instead of driving.
The bus company “wholeheartedly” supports the awareness day as “it’s a fantastic initiative that encourages people to explore other sustainable modes of transport, Carousel Buses interim managing director Luke Marion said.

He added: “Making small adjustments to travel routines can help us realise our goal of achieving net-zero emissions. We hope it encourages people to take part and use it as an opportunity to see what buses have to offer.
“Buses help reduce congestion and significantly improve air quality which is key to helping tackle the climate emergency."
“Walking gives me quality time with my little girl.”

Carousel Buses invested millions in ultra clean technology, which has “radically helped reduce CO2 emissions in our community,” Mr Marion said.
Their technology even shows how much carbon dioxide people save when travelling by bus compared to a car.
Carousel’s special ticket discount offers 15 percent off on multi-trip tickets purchased through the mobile app.
