This article by John Shortland is based on a talk John gave recently at the Bourne End Community Centre.

Michael Eagleton, who died on Monday, September 9, was closely involved with several Marlow organisations and touched the lives of many of the residents in the town. I have collected together some of the tributes which have been made about Michael.

Slate Meadow separates the villages of Bourne End and Wooburn Green. It is a large green open space , bounded on its northern side by a hill rising to Flackwell Heath, the southern boundary being the river Wye.
