A temporary roadside repair by the council to “make the area safe” has been branded ‘more dangerous than before’ after it began to disintegrate.
The public have criticised a “temporary fix” that Bucks Council made to Woodside Close in Amersham earlier this month, with some claiming it is ‘more dangerous than it was’, while others branded it a ‘waste of time and money’.
The repair was done to patch up a crumbling path in the short term, until “a proper repair could be scheduled”.

But a large crack has since emerged, prompting public outrage about the workmanship.
Bucks Council said a full repair will happen shortly.

One person wrote online: “Who thinks this pavement repair is of a remotely acceptable standard?”
Another person wrote: “It is more dangerous than it was before.”
Someone else wrote: “Quality workmanship – not.”
Yet another person wrote: “What a waste of time, money and materials.”
Another wrote: “Disgusting – and we pay for this…workmanship. Bucks has the worst roads, in my opinion.”
Council leader Cllr Martin Tett agreed it “looks poor”, adding it “looks like a temporary repair to ‘make it safe’ pending a permanent repair”. Cllr Tett also said he had “flagged” it with highways.
Cabinet member for transport, Cllr Steve Broadbent, said: “The work carried out in Woodside Close earlier this month was only a temporary fix until a proper repair could be scheduled into our works programme.
“The nature of such work is to make the area safe until a full repair can be carried out.
“Unfortunately, in this instance, the temporary repair has been unsuccessful, most likely due to the volume of traffic and types of vehicles accessing the road.
“A crew attended the site on Monday (June 28) to make the road safe again and a full patch repair will take place within the next seven days.”
