Wycombe Wanderers goalkeeper Max Stryjek has admitted he ‘didn’t see the reason to stop playing’ ahead of his loan move to Crewe Alexandra.
The 27-year-old had been the Chairboys’ number one shot-stopper this season but following his red card away at Stevenage on February 24, he has not regained his place due to the form of second-choice, Franco Ravizzoli.
The Argentine has since played the last 12 matches, keeping six clean sheets in that time.

Overall, Ravizzoli has kept nine shutouts in 18 outings this season.
Since claiming the number one spot, Stryjek has joined League Two Crewe on an emergency seven-day loan, making his debut in the side’s 3-0 home loss to Grimsby Town on April 13.
He was at fault for the first goal, and also conceded a strike from his former Chairboys colleague, Curtis Thompson.
Speaking on his move up north to the club’s media channels, he said: "I'm really happy to join.
"At Wycombe, I had a little wobble when I wasn't playing, and I asked the manager if I could go out and help someone get into the play-offs.

“It will be a good challenge and I'm happy to be here.”
On the last two months, he continued: “I stopped playing for Wycombe when I got sent off against Stevenage.
“Before that, I was the Man of the Match in the [EFL Trophy] semi-final [against Bradford], so I didn't see the reason to stop playing.

"But I think it might have something to do with the contract situation - I'm out of contract in the summer and suddenly I just stopped playing.
"This opportunity came up so I thought, 'why not?'
"This is a good challenge and I thought it's better to play football than not play at all."
Stryjek has played 82 times for Wycombe since his move to the club in the summer of 2022 from Livingston.
