The new Sports Direct outlet is expected to open in High Wycombe today [Wednesday, April 24].
The national store had been based in a unit along Octagon Parade opposite the Eden Shopping Centre, but it was confirmed in December 2023 that they had planned to move out of the premises.
It was not known where this new location would be, but it was revealed at the start of this year that they would transfer to the old Zara store inside the shopping complex.
This comes after the Spanish clothing giant, which has over 50 branches in the UK, did not extend its lease to use the unit in the town.
Following this, Sports Direct had planned to start trading on April 19 in their new home, but delays have pushed their reopening behind schedule by a few days.
Upon the move centre Director, Andrew Norton, said: "This is great news for sports and sporting apparel fans in the area.
"Sports Direct's commitment to High Wycombe is evident and Eden has been able to provide the desired quality of location that fits with the brand's store elevation strategy.
"This is one of the many new retailers that Eden will welcome this year."
A spokesperson for Frasers Group added: "We are pleased to be opening a new, elevated retail destination in High Wycombe’s Eden Shopping Centre.”
