Chalfont St Peter’s season came to a disappointing end as they were dumped out of the Wycombe Senior Cup at the semi-final stage by Pitstone & Ivinghoe.
Tuesday’s defeat came courtesy of two late goals for Pitstone on a day which had started brightly as Tony Mendy gave the Saints a 17th minute lead.
Alex Groom hit back to make it 1-1 at half-time and a late surge saw Kieran Doughty score in the 82nd minute before Groom’s second completed the scoring in the 90th.
Elsewhere, Holmer Green’s run of poor form continued as they suffered their fourth defeat in a row in the South Midland Premier League.
The loss against London Tigers did at least see Holmer tighten up defensively as they only lost 1-0.
They will once again look to return to winning ways when they take on Oxhey Jets tonight. Jets currently sit 18th and are without a win in their last three league matches.
Holmer will be hoping for a repeat of their last league meeting which saw them beat Jets 4-0 in November.
Amersham Town also had a mid-week to forget as they suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of AFC Hillgate.
The result leaves Amersham 12th in the South Midland Division Two ahead of a match against Tring Corinthians on Saturday.
