CHARLES Dunne said he wants to focus on recovering his best form after feeling the pride of making his international debut this week.
After several previous squad call-ups the Wanderers defender finally got onto the pitch for the Republic of Ireland U21s as a second half substitute in their 5-2 European Championship qualifying win against the Faroe Islands.
Dunne's form for Wycombe last season persuaded Championship side Blackpool to sign him for £250,000 before loaning him back to Adams Park for the rest of the season.
He admitted the move and his international call ups had proved a distraction and the 20-year-old said he wants to rediscover the form he showed last season.
Dunne said: "To be fair it's been a bit hard to concentrate. It's been hard to really focus on everything because of the move and I've been called up, so I'm trying to get my mind straight and focus.
"I haven't been playing that well. I want to get back on track and play like I was playing last season. My aim's to focus and do everything properly. I've got to work hard at Wycombe and with Ireland as well."
He said about his long-awaited international debut: "It went well. I was very happy to get on - it was a proud moment.
"It's been a long time coming because I have been involved a few times. I was hoping this time I'd get on, and I did.
"It's a bit frustrating when you get called up and travel everywhere and you don't play, but this time I got on so I was over the moon."
He added: "The travelling is tiring but it's a good experience. You meet people and see different cultures and backgrounds and how other people live."
