A doctor and business owner based in Princes Risborough has become one of only two UK surgeons to receive a prestigious award.

Adrian Richards, who owns Aurora Clinics, was awarded the accolade for “having an outstanding record of positive consumer feedback and for providing unique, valuable insights that can’t typically be found on the social web” by US Surgeon directory RealSelf.com.

Mr Richards said he was thrilled to be included in the list, fighting off competition from surgeons across the world.

He said: “I am humbled to be included on this list.

“I have been fortunate in the past to have been recognised for my work inside the operating theatre and to have something which supports the effort I’ve put into interacting with patients and enquirers on line is superb.

“It’s 2015, I should be using the Internet very regularly to speak with people about surgery, as well as in person, of course.”

To mark the unveiling of the new list, the faces of all RealSelf100 surgeons will be beamed onto a screen in Times Square, New York.
