THE passenger of a heavy goods vehicle travelling on the M40 died yesterday.
Police said they were called to an area of the M40 between Junction 2 at Beaconsfield and Junction 1A at 4.40pm on Monday to reports of people on the motorway trying to flag down motorists.
An ambulance was called to the HGV, which was parked on the hard-shoulder, and the male passenger was taken to Wexham Park Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
One lane of the motorway was closed while the emergency services attended the scene.
The next of kin have been informed, officers added.
