PLANS to turn a former cinema in Beaconsfield into an Italian restaurant have been approved by a council.
The scheme would mean the end for Zoom Children's Adventure Funhouse, which currently occupies the building at 12 -14 Station Road.
Zoom Enterprises Ltd says it is “no longer able to support an unviable business” and the building needs to be refurbished.
In documents submitted to South Bucks District Council, Zoom said it is too reliant on rainy weather and has been hit by the economic downturn.
The council has approved a change of use for the property, to create an upmarket Prezzo Restaurant.
The building used to house The Chiltern Cinema, which closed in the 1980s shortly after a six screen multiplex opened in Cressex, High Wycombe (now Empire).
