STUDENTS at an Amersham school were celebrating this week after finding out they were among the top GCSE performers in the country.
Five pupils from Dr Challoner’s Grammar School were among the top ten scores in GCSE Spanish, with a further five doing likewise in GCSE Drama.
The Spanish students were Thomas Cunningham, Christopher Gray, Thomas Lewin, James Stephenson and Thomas Tryon.
Joshua Moore, Thomas Rawlinson, Ryan Thomas, Yaroslav Walker and Samuel Westaway were in the top ten performing drama students out of 60,000 pupils who took the subject with exam board Edexcel this year.
William Chaplin was also in the top ten for Information and Communications Technology.
Headmaster Dr Mark Fenton said: “We were delighted with the school’s overall GCSE results this year.
“However, to have so many students performing at this exceptionally high level is the icing on the cake and a great tribute not only to the boys’ hard work, but also the dedication and commitment of their teachers.”
