SHOPPERS had a big enough reason to stop for a quick sit-down when they stumbled across giant pieces of furniture which appeared overnight in Frogmoor in December.
The giant Klippan sofa and bug-eyed Minnen Groda soft toy, were five-times normal size, making passers-by feel as though they had stepped through the looking glass into Alice's Wonderland.
They were placed in the town to celebrate the launch of the new IKEA store in Milton Keynes, on December 27, which is an hour's drive away from High Wycombe.
The furniture on show were replicas of real products which can be bought at the store.
Mats Kotka, the new store manager, said: "We understand that people in the area are likely to make the trip to Milton Keynes from time to time, but we want them to know that their local' IKEA is now here too.
"The giant furniture is just a taste of what people can expect when they enter the store."
