MAJOR bus service in High Wycombe are set to change on Friday.

Transport for Buckinghamshire, in partnership with Arriva and Carousel Buses, launch the new look bus services from Friday in a bid to improve reliability.

Blueroute 32, which currently runs between Micklefield, the town centre, Booker and Lane End, will no longer extend to Lane End except during evenings and Sundays.

Passengers who wish to travel to Lane End can catch Carousel Buses 2A/2C or on the new service, Arriva the Shires route 340.

The 340 will run hourly between High Wycombe, Sands, Lane End and Stokenchurch during Mondays to Saturdays.

Other services affected are the Greenroute 31 and Redroute 33/34, as well as services 37, 43, 74 and 331.

Head of Transport for Buckinghamshire Jim Stevens said: “Working in partnership with bus companies to provide up to date public transport information is a high priority with Transport for Buckinghamshire.

“Whether online, in our latest comprehensive guide to bus services or face to face this information helps increase awareness of the excellent bus services available so residents can choose the smarter way to travel.”

Bus company teams will be on hand near the Gap store at the Eden Centre on Friday between 9am and 2pm to advise commuters.

The full list of bus service changes: Greenroute 31 Arriva the Shires, Downley - High Wycombe - Penn Timing changes throughout the service, Monday to Sundays.

Blueroute 32 Arriva the Shires, Micklefield - High Wycombe - Booker Timing changes throughout the day Monday - Saturday. Except evening and Sunday journeys this route will no longer serve Lane End.

Redroute 33/34 Arriva the Shires, Castlefield - High Wycombe - Totteridge Timing changes to journeys Monday to Saturday. Main daytime Saturday frequency reduced from every 12 minutes to every 15 minutes. No change to Sunday and evening journeys.

37 Arriva the Shires, High Wycombe - Bourne End - Maidenhead Minor timing changes to some journeys.

43 Arriva the Shires, High Wycombe - Cressex Business Park This service is being withdrawn. Passengers wishing to travel between High Wycombe and Cressex Business Park can use Arriva's Park & Ride 100 service or Carousel Buses' 2A/2C.

74 Arriva the Shires, High Wycombe - Beaconsfield - Slough Timing changes to Monday to Friday afternoon peak journeys.

331 Arriva the Shires, High Wycombe - Chinnor This schooldays only service has been re-tendered and won by Red Eagle. The service will now consist of a return journey from Chinnor to Marlow Hill Schools at 0740, coming back at 1605.

340 Arriva the Shires, High Wycombe - Sands - Lane End - Stokenchurch A new service running hourly Monday to Saturday.
