JOHN Gorman's wife Myra has lost her battle against cancer.
The 56-year-old died on Sunday night at their Binfield home, in Berkshire, after a year-long fight against the illness.
Wanderers manager Mr Gorman, who missed Saturday's match against Oxford United to be with her, said: "She was such a wonderful person.
"She was so special. She was such a perfect wife, mother and grandmother."
The players were told that she had passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family late on Sunday night, when they arrived for training yesterday morning.
First team administrator Deborah Blissett said: "They were a very popular couple in the football industry.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with John, their children Nick and Amanda, and all the family."
The funeral will be held at the St Thomas More Church in Twyford, Berkshire, on Thursday at 2pm.
Mrs Gorman had been fighting the cancer since last March, having previously beaten breast cancer.
Anyone wanting to make donations should do so towards Cancer Research.
As well as her children Nick, 29, and Amanda 32, Mrs Gorman leaves two grandchildren Aaron and Josephine, who was born just two weeks ago.
