ONE of Dr Challoner's Grammar School's most famous ex-pupils returned for this year's Senior Prize Giving ceremony.
Prof Dame Sandra Dawson – who helped set up the Judge Business School at Cambridge University and is current Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the university's Sidney Sussex College – was at the Amersham school in the 1950s when it was still co-educational.
She addressed the school's current pupils at Thursday night's Prize Giving, encouraging them to make the most of 'the unique miracle that is you'.
In particular, she urged the boys to remember the value of the 'Three Cs' - curiosity, collaboration and competition.
Dame Sandra's message very much supported the school's ideas on learning in an exponentially changing world which the Headmaster had outlined in his review of the year earlier in the evening.
The proceedings were rounded off by a polished vote of thanks from the School Captain, Tom Tryon.
