The executive of a school trust has been fined after getting caught speeding.

Andrew Yarrow, 55, of Abrahams Close, Amersham, was caught speeding on the M3 near Camberley by a traffic camera on January 25, 2023,

He exceeded the 70 mile per hour limit.

Yarrow appeared before Guildford Magistrates' Court on February 16 this year to answer to a charge of speeding.

There, he pleaded guilty.

Magistrates decided against suspending Yarrow's licence.

Justifying this, they cited the fact that the defendant heads a group of academy schools, and travels over 20,000 miles per year.

They also noted that he is an only child, and that his elderly parents depend on him for transportation purposes.

Instead, Yarrow now faces a string of fines and costs in connection with the incident.

In addition to a £500 fine, he will have to pay a victim surcharge of £200, and £110 in court costs.

His driving licence has also been endorsed with three points.
