MEDIEVAL fun featuring knights, battle demonstrations, and fire-breathing dragons will be taking place this St George’s weekend.

The Chiltern Open Air Museum is hosting two days of expert medieval reenactors showing how knights geared up for their gallant quests, practising combat and jousting skills in heavy armour.

A dragon quest arranged around the museum lets children help the knights find their dragon, and families can participate in the knights' training.

Activities run between 11am and 3pm at 45-acre museum this Saturday and Sunday.

Beyond the excitement, families have plenty of time to explore the 37 historic buildings onsite demonstrating 2,000 years of local life.

Museum volunteers in period costumes will help bring history to life.

COAM General Manager, Helen Light said, "St Georges is always a great weekend at Chiltern Open Air Museum.

"The children love the knights on their horses and frankly who doesn’t love a dragon.

"With the weather set fair we are expecting a weekend of fun, and celebration fit for a saint."
