A GUITAR, television and a two-seater sofa were among the items illegally dumped by a High Wycombe man - leading him to having to pay up £720.
Scott Allnutt also fly tipped an office chair and two freeview boxes at land he owned at Haleacre Workshops in Watchet Lane, Little Kingshill.
The 23-year-old, of London Road, told members of the Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire he had been paid to remove and dispose of the waste by a High Wycombe resident. He said it was a temporary measure and didn’t realise he was doing anything wrong.
He initially denied a charge of depositing controlled waste otherwise than in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act before changing his plea to guilty at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, April 16.
Allnutt was ordered to pay £500 in prosecution costs to help pay for the clean-up of the site, while fines and compensation orders imposed by magistrates brought the total he had to cough up to £720.
The case was prosecuted by Buckinghamshire County Council working on behalf of the Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire.
