TO CELEBRATE Valentine's Day The Horse Trust in Speen is holding a weekend of celebrations.

The charity opened its doors again for the 2014 season last weekend and supporters enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with their favourite horses.

Among the horses on the yard were old favourites like retired army horse Commando and rescue pony Teddy.

They were joined by some of The Horse Trust’s newest arrivals, including police horse Alfie, who arrived in January following the closure of the Cleveland Police Mounted Section.

The charity will open its doors today until Sunday. Between 2 and 4pm visitors are invited to bring along that special someone, or simply come and give their favourite horse, pony or donkey an extra special Valentine’s cuddle.

Visitors can enter its prize draw, make a Valentine’s card or enjoy afternoon tea in the newly refurbished Black Beauty tea room and gift shop.

The charity is also asking people to sponsor a horse as a gift for Valentine's/ Sponsorship starts from £2 a month and sponsors will receive a photograph, a personalised certificate of sponsorship and a fact sheet as well as regular updates and invitations to exclusive events.
