ROCK music fans are promised to feel like they are in their teens again next month when tribute artists to some of the greatest rockers, roll into town for a week long show.

The Rock’N’Roll week tour is going around the country performing three different shows across the course of a week with all the cast performing as different musicians each time.

One of the show's stars, Damien Edwards, 43, has taken to the stage on many occasions and has performed as a number of famous musicians including Roy Orbison and Elvis but he says he is really enjoying this new challenge.

Damien, who plays Roy Orbison in the first show, ‘Three steps to heaven’ said: "People seem to really like the show, if you like Rock’N’Roll you will definitely like these shows."

He added: "For some people they enjoy it because it is a nostalgia trip but a large group of fans are young people who are really into rock music, they wear the clothes, sing the songs and have a great knowledge of that style."

As well as ‘Three steps to heaven’, the cast will also perform a ‘Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran show’ and the week closes with the fantastic ‘Winter dance party’.

Talking of the show Damien said: "It’s not a play, it’s not a musical, it is a concert really, two of the shows are recreations of actual concerts. Whereas ‘Three steps to heaven’ is "the show that never happened", featuring some massive stars."

He was keen to point out the shows are a group effort and everyone has impressed him so far. He said: "The cast and crew are really good, I am the oldest at 43 and the youngest is about 21.

"Ed Handoll who performs as Buddy Holly in two of the shows is particularly good and all the crew are great too, including the lighting guys and the make-up people, everyone is fantastic and does a great job."

Damien has played Roy Orbison, to great acclaim, in The official Roy Orbison story four times between 2000 and 2003 but got his first break in the business when performing in Thank you for the music in 1999 but is back playing Orbison again.

Damien, who also plays Gene Vincent and Big Bopper, has a degree in English and Drama and said he has always been musical and grew up listening to Abba and the Bee Gees.

He said: "I have always wanted to have a career in music, when I was younger I even wrote my own material. It wasn’t easy as it was different then as we didn’t have talent shows like X-Factor or The Voice."

The show will be performing at the Theatre Royal Windsor from February 3 to February 8 and it will feature many Rock’N’Roll stars including Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Billy Fury, Richie Valens and Elvis.
