A CAR trader who lost eight vehicles in a huge fire last night has spoken of the devastation at the scene.
The vehicles were lost in a blaze at Southside Farm, Wooburn Moor, which began in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters were called to the scene near London Road just after midnight, with six fire engines were required to battle the flames, which also claimed a caravan, a van and a minibus.
“It looks like Beirut down there, the cars are completely burnt to the ground,” he said.
“Luckily one of the coaches was out for the FA Cup final today because the gap provided a break in the fire.
“Otherwise it could have been much worse as there are over 100 cars stored down there.
“For us, it wasn’t the most expensive retail stock that was affected but we’ve still potentially lost a lot of money depending on insurance.”
Two crews from Beaconsfield responded to a call at 12.11am, with two from High Wycombe, one from Princes Risborough and another from Stokenchurch joining efforts soon after.
Firefighters used two main jets, two hose reels and six sets of breathing apparatus as they fought the flames.
Two propane cylinders were removed and cooled during the incident.
The cause of the blaze has not yet been confirmed.
