IF you haven't already bought your ticket for this year's offering at the Wycombe Swan, do it now, otherwise you will be missing out on a night of pure laughter.

The same show, directed by Paul Elliott, broke panto box office records in Birmingham last year, and its easy to see why. The sets are superb, the costumes eyecatching, (especially the ones designed and worn by Ugly Sisters Peter Robbins and Nigel Ellacott, which included an ice cream and a picnic basket), and the performers brilliant.

It's unfair on the rest of the talented cast to say Brian Conley makes the show, but his sheer comic value and love of what he is doing shines through during the entire performance.

You can tell its not just a job for him, and he is enjoying being on stage, showcasing his singing, dancing, comic and serious acting skills. His interaction with the audience adds to the family feel of the whole production.

Cinderella(Michelle Potter) was perfectly cast, and Baron Hardup (Dawson Chance), complete with his friend Willy was great fun.

The bits that weren't scripted were some of the most entertaining of the night, including the hysterical scene of one of the Ugly Sisters sprawled on the floor, during Prince Charming's slipper search, with wig askew and fake balloon breasts all over the place. It says a lot for the talent of the cast that they took it in their stride, albeit with a few tears of laughter of their own lining their faces.

That's the beauty of this production. You know, no matter how many times they have donned the costumes, and played these roles, all the actors are truly enjoying themselves. And you will too, no matter how old you are.

Until January 6.
